About Us
The production company December was founded in 2013 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, by the producers Vlado Bulajić and Lija Pogačnik. Upon its foundation, December’s main goal was to produce fiction and documentary films and work with younger and innovative filmmakers and screenwriters with a recognisable style. Due to our approach to production and our attitude to our filmmakers and screenwriters, we have managed to position December as a production company that both younger and older established filmmakers and producers want to cooperate with in Slovenia and the broader region. We are interested in contemporary, brave topics, topics that reflect the society and the time we live in, and in stories that carry emotions, but also in the creators that are able to turn such topics and stories into moving images that touch the audience.
LIJA POGAČNIK
CEO, co-founder & producer
After graduating in Translation and Interpreting from the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana Lija worked on the translations and adaptations of screenplays, children's books and contemporary theatre plays. She is a member of the Association of Slovenian Film Producers and European Film Academy, and a 2023 EAVE graduate.
VLADO BULAJIĆ
co-founder & producer
Studied history and sociology of culture at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana. Since 2006, he has been professionally engaged in film production working as a producer, assistant director and production manager on films, TV series and advertising. He is EAVE Producers Workshop (2012) graduate. He is a member of the Association of Slovenian Film Producers, the Directors Guild of Slovenia and European Film Academy.
