The Invisible Hand of Adam Smith
A tourist arrives at the hotel reception. When she realizes that all the rooms are booked, she offers the receptionist a €100 bribe to try to find her a room. The receptionist pockets the money and takes it to the hotel kitchen. Instead of looking for a room, the receptionist gives the €100 to the chef, from whom he had once borrowed money. The money continues its journey in a similar way, as each person involved repays their debts. In the end, the money returns to the receptionist, since the last person in this random chain also owes him money. The receptionist takes the money and finally returns it to the tourist looking for a room, telling her that, unfortunately, all the rooms are occupied.
